Named in honor of Sta. Luisa de Marillac, a girl who grew up as an illegitimate child in a troubled world, in spite of which she found strength to dedicate her life to God by caring for the poor and abandoned, co-founding the Daughters and Ladies of Charity After her death she was beatified, canonized, and proclaimed as universal Patron of Social Workers

Accreditations and Affiliations

Tahanan Sta Luisa continues its active involvement and participation in different networks (government and civil society organizations) that promote the rights of children, especially street and girl children. Through networking and coordination with different groups (government, civil society groups, business establishments, local corporations) and individuals, Tahanan is able to access resources to help address the needs of the girls at the Center, as well as generate funds and supporters/volunteers. DSWD Accreditation

On August 7, 2007, the Standards Bureau of the Department of Social Welfare and Development issued a Certificate of Accreditation to Tahanan Sta. Luisa, Inc for having satisfied the standards in the implementation of Residential Care Services for Children (Young Girls) in compliance with the provision of Sec. 23, Republic Act 4373 "An Act to Regulate the Practice of Social Work and the Operation of Social Work Agencies in the Philippines and for Other Purposes."

The Certificate of Accreditation is valid for three (3) years from August 7, 2007 to August 6, 2010.
